Committed to Human Rights and Social Justice in Canada

The Migrant Justice and Development Coalition (MJDC) is a grassroots human rights organization based in Canada, committed to defending the dignity, rights, and well-being of migrant workers and marginalized communities. We are legal advocates, organizers, educators, and community leaders united by a common purpose: to dismantle systemic injustice and build a future where no one is exploited because of their immigration status, race, or socioeconomic condition.

MJDC works across rural and urban communities—particularly in sectors where migrants are vulnerable to abuse and corporate impunity. Whether through legal empowerment, policy advocacy, awareness campaigns, or direct community support, we stand beside those who are too often pushed to the margins. We are driven by the belief that justice must be accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few.

Our Story

Our History

MJDC was founded in response to the growing crisis of exploitation faced by temporary foreign workers and migrant communities across Canada. Sparked by alarming reports of wage theft, unsafe working conditions, and immigration-based coercion, especially in agricultural and caregiving sectors our founders came together to create a voice for the voiceless.

What began as a small group of volunteers has grown into a national movement rooted in the principles of justice, solidarity, and accountability. Informed by lived experience and legal expertise, MJDC continues to expand its reach and impact, advocating for stronger protections, transparent policies, and corporate responsibility, guided by both Canadian law and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Today, MJDC is not only a shield for the vulnerable but a catalyst for systemic change.
